Upper Hammonds Plains Land Trust Project

The Upper Hammonds Plains Community Land Trust (UHPCLT) is a community-led initiative in Nova Scotia that aims to preserve African Nova Scotian heritage and address affordable housing challenges. Established in 2022, the trust has been working to create a community land trust model that prioritizes affordable housing, cultural preservation, and community-driven development

This project is designed to support market affordable homes, while maintaining long-term affordability and neighborhood integration. MR Developments designed the units, completed the civil engineering work, provided consulting, managing permitting, assisting in obtaining financing, and completed site preparation, ensuring the site is pad-ready. Secured CMHC funding.

Uplands

A mixed market and affordable housing community was developed in partnership with the Upper Hammonds Plains Community Land Trust. The project is designed to support market affordable homes, while maintaining long-term affordability and neighbourhood integration.

MR Developments provided consulting, designed the units, completed the civil engineering work, managed permit applications, and secured financing that includes the delivery of 19 affordable housing units at 30% below market. Secured CMHC funding.
